Yesterday, the mid-term election for 2013 was held all over the country and voters from all walks of life flocked in school precincts to cast their votes for their chosen candidates. In Cagayan de Oro, two current political names were racing for the mayoral position, incumbent Mayor Vicente ‘Dongkoy’ Emano and his opponent Misamis Oriental Governor Oscar ‘Oca Moreno.  Based on COMELEC’s partial and unofficial tally as of May 14, 2013, Moreno is ahead with 72,665 votes while Emano is trailing with 59,957 votes as of 12:05 PM today. The unofficial result gives Moreno a 12,700+ lead over Emano.  For Vice Mayor, incumbent Ian Acenas leads with 62,406 over Councilor Edgar Cabanlas with 53,955 votes.
