It’s good to know that the Kagay-anons will no longer experience long period of blackouts everyday, we still hope that this so called power crisis here in Mindanao will end soon.

Kagay-anon Mark Bautista goes topless in Party Pilipinas

In his debut since he transferred from being a Kapamilya to being a Kapuso, Kagay-anon Mark Bautista started his performance with a topless opening billboard in the new GMA 7 show called Party Pilipinas.

Mark Bautista, who grew up in Cagayan De Oro, performed with La Diva, the group that became more popular during one of Manny Pacquiao’s fight. Will this transfer prove to be a better move for the Viva artist? Or will this disappoint the singer from Cagayan De Oro?

That we have to find out. But for now, have fun watching Mark Bautista’s debut performance in his new station. (Video courtesy of Starmometer from Youtube)

2010 Graduates in perspective: Lacking restaurants…and jobs?

2010 college graduates from different colleges and universities flocked to local Cagayan De Oro restaurants on Saturday, March 27, 2010.

With a number of colleges and universities which held their graduation ceremonies on Saturday, restaurants have been filled with a lot of families and friends celebrating the end of a long, exhausting yet fulfilling student life.
The restaurant business here in the city did not only benefit from this event at lunch time but even during dinner as well. This is because various universities like Xavier University-Ateneo De Cagayan had two schedules for their ceremonies to accommodate all graduates and their guests.

Many students and their families had to transfer from one place to another because of too much crowd in certain restaurants. Do we lack a number of good restaurants for family affairs such as these?

A new set of hopefuls are now looking forward to landing on their jobs. While some of them have jobs waiting for them already, most of them will still line up in the receiving areas of various companies and fill the inbox of their email addresses. When it comes to the employment rate in the city, is it similar to the issue we face in restaurants? Do we lack a number of good companies for people to be employed at?

If you’re a tourist reading this entry, know for sure that you are helping the economy of this city. So we welcome you as our friends. And the new graduates benefit from your coming here as more jobs hopefully get created out of the city tourism boost.

Point of Info: This entry does not in any way conclude the lack of restaurants and jobs in Cagayan De Oro.

Xavier University grad goes live online

Xavier University will commence its academic year of 2009-2010 this Saturday, March 27, 2010. The catch of this story though is that the University graduation rites will go live online–the first in Cagayan De Oro.

The ceremonies will have two parts to cater the number of graduating students. The morning and afternoon ceremonies will basically be of the same format except for the people involved because it will be categorized according to courses. This means that the ceremonies will have two different graduation speakers from the graduating batch.

At first, rumor had it that the graduation rites will be seen live on big screen beside the XU Gym. Unlike last year, the live big screen this year will have audio feed as well. But the official Xavier University website features a grad webcast implying that the graduation can be seen live online.

Should this become successful, two thumbs up for the people behind this innovation! You can watch the Xavier University Graduation live online with its official webcast.

Election 2010 Watch – Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro in Cagayan De Oro

Presidential candidate Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro visited Cagayan De Oro last March 10, 2010 and impressed the majority of college students in the city.

Facebook and Plurk last week were flooded with Gibo-related posts as far as Kagay-anons are concerned. A lot of Xavier University-Ateneo De Cagayan students posted their photo beside adminstration bet Gibo.

On the other side of the city, majority of the Liceo de Cagayan University students were impressed with how intellectual Gibo responded to the different issues raised. This showed even in Facebook status updates among Liceo students with some saying that the presidential candidate received a standing ovation after his speech.

Does this mean that university and college students who can vote are going green?

Nobody really knows until the time comes to shade the circles on the ballots.
